Showcases

Every collaboration ecosystems challenge is unique, yet they share a common thread: the need to reveal hidden connections and transform them into collective action. CommunitySensor has been applied across scales—from neighborhood initiatives to global conferences—and across sectors—from agriculture to climate action to social innovation.

These showcases demonstrate how the CommunitySensor methodology creates tangible business value: amplifying conference impact, enabling inclusive governance, aligning multi-stakeholder initiatives, developing strategic partnerships, and bridging the gap between policy and practice. Each story illustrates a different facet of how jointly making collaboration ecosystems visible and collaboratively making sense of them can lead to more effective, sustainable outcomes and impact.

Catalyzing Global Knowledge Networks

INGENAES Global Symposium | Conference Impact Amplification

Transform your international conference from a one-time event into a lasting collaboration catalyst. For INGENAES’s Global Symposium in Zambia, we mapped connections between dozens of initiatives, projects and programs represented at the conference across gender, nutrition, and agricultural extension. Our real-time visualization helped attendees discover unexpected synergies, resulting in almost a hundred concrete “seed actions” for post-conference implementation. By making invisible networks visible, we turned three days of meetings into sustained cross-border partnerships.

Bridging Digital Divides

Malawi’s Agricultural Governance System | Inclusive Stakeholder Coordination

Effective governance requires all voices at the table—even those without electricity. In Malawi, we helped agricultural extension services visualize their complex multi-level coordination system using a hybrid paper-digital approach. Local communities mapped their initiatives on posters, which were then integrated into a national digital mapping platform. This bridging of the digital divide enabled farmers to directly influence district and national agricultural policies, improving coordination across all governance levels.

From Climate Confusion to Collective Action

Dutch Regional Climate Alliance | Multi-Stakeholder Alignment

Complex challenges need aligned action, not more isolated initiatives. For the Klimaatstroom Zuid climate summit, we mapped over a hundred organizations and their climate initiatives in real-time, revealing hidden connection opportunities. This visualization transformed a day of presentations into concrete ideas for inter-city collaborations and cross-sector partnerships. By showing stakeholders their place in the bigger picture, we helped accelerate the transition from fragmented efforts to coordinated regional climate action.

Scaling Social Innovation Across Borders

European City Networks | Strategic Partnership Development

International collaboration thrives on discovering common ground. For the EU’s BoostINNO network, we mapped social innovation initiatives across 11 European cities, revealing unexpected thematic connections and partnership opportunities. Our personalized “mapping station” consultations, for instance, helped city representatives identify their most relevant peers, turning limited networking time into targeted partnership discussions that continued long after the conference.

Weaving Urban Futures Together

Czech Cities | Public Libraries as Catalysts for Urban Innovation

When cities reimagine their future, how do you connect vision to action? For the Czech city of Brno and its ambitious #Brno2050 agenda, we transformed public libraries into collaboration hubs for urban development. Using participatory mapping workshops, we helped dozens of local stakeholders in Prague and Brno visualize connections between existing initiatives across the city’s strategic themes. This bird’s-eye view of the urban ecosystem enabled participants to identify partnership opportunities and align resources, turning a long-term city strategy into actionable collaborative networks. By positioning libraries as neutral meeting grounds for diverse communities, we demonstrated how these civic spaces can catalyze urban transformation from the ground up.
